As we prepare to open our new centre in Toronto, we are seeking a passionate Front Desk Manager who will be instrumental in launching and leading the Front Desk operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Front Desk Manager will ensure an outstanding guest experience from day one, building a high-performing team and bringing AIRE’s standards of service excellence to life.
Our Toronto Location:
Amidst the timeless charm of Toronto’s Fashion District, AIRE finds its home in a historic Edwardian Classicism building, once the office and warehouse of the Copp Clark publishing company. Built in 1912 and later designated a heritage site, its original wood structure and towering pillars remain, preserving the character of its storied past that once held the art of printing and now embraces the art of relaxation.
Honoring its literary and industrial past, the space is adorned with vintage books, printing presses, which are subtle echoes of its history. AIRE Toronto offers a unique experience with a dry sauna and a Palestra, an indoor/outdoor bath area seamlessly connected to the interior through two jet baths, creating a tranquil escape where past and present merge in perfect harmony.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Phase
- Recruit and onboard the Front Desk team in alignment with AIRE’s values and service philosophy.
- Lead and participate in the initial training program, ensuring the team is fully prepared to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Collaborate with the Centre Director and other department heads to finalize operational procedures, opening checklists, and Front Desk protocols.
- Support the setup and organization of the Front Desk area, ensuring all operational and aesthetic standards are met.
- Actively participate in soft opening activities and opening day preparations, ensuring a seamless guest experience from the very beginning.
Client Experience
- Ensure the Front Desk environment consistently reflects AIRE’s service standards and brand identity.
- Supervise and monitor compliance with service protocols, taking proactive actions to guarantee excellence.
- Identify and promptly resolve any issues that could impact the client experience.
- Oversee the proper implementation of hygiene and sanitation protocols according to AIRE’s guidelines.
Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Front Desk, ensuring optimal coordination with all departments and the Contact Centre.
- Oversee VIP and group bookings, ensuring efficient organization of shifts and guest flow management.
- Conduct daily operational briefings to communicate key updates such as VIP guests, maintenance incidents, and special events.
- Supervise inventory management, retail sales, and financial transactions at the Front Desk.
- Prepare and present daily and weekly reports on incidents, improvements, and relevant operational matters to Centre Management.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Front Desk team, fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Provide regular individual feedback and coaching to support professional growth and performance excellence.
- Plan and manage employee schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage based on business needs and service expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years' experience leading a Front Desk or Customer Service team is required.
- Prior experience in the hospitality, wellness, or related sectors is required.
- Strong sensitivity to luxury service standards, with a clear understanding of personalized service, attention to detail, and elevated guest expectations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, particularly during the pre-opening and opening phases.
- Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences and embodying AIRE’s brand values.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, especially during the opening period.
